Cork artist Jason De Butléir

"I began making sketches from dinosaur magazines when I was ten years old then moved onto making landscapes with water colours.  When I went to secondary school I began making poetic pictures from my imagination.  I then went on to the Crawford College of Art & Design where I studied Fine art and Art History.  I am very interested in art from the modern period because I believe they hold the key’s to revolution of innovation in art.  But I also believe that studying all the periods of fine art is part of the progression."

Cork artist debutléir is influenced by great artists such as GAUGUIN, Cezanne, Picasso, Modigliani, Mondrian, Léger, Pollack, Avery, O’Keeffe, DUBUFFET,Munch,Nodel Kandinsky, Malevich, Escher, Tamayo, Cassatt, Monet, Degas, Da Vinci, ancient Greek, ancient Egyptian, Islamic patterns and eastern art.
